As a USMNT diehard, I’ve been there in this community for a while and appreciate the no-nonsense approach to World Cup 2026 discussions. During the CONCACAF rounds, crossing borders to watch US games in Mexico City or Vancouver will be fun, but hotel prices are a killer. I rely on swaps for the cups, and I’m confident it will work for this one too. Here’s my game plan, simple and budget-friendly:

  • I look for Airbnb swaps first. They are an official FIFA partner, so “WC26” listings are tagged. Trade your US location (i.e. Dallas) for a Mexico City place close to the Centro de Alto Rendimiento base – they train there, and the fans are cheap, flocking to the games. I picked one up for $150 a night last I checked.
  • I love Facebook groups. Join “USA World Cup 2026”  people are already posting home swaps, for example Vancouver for Toronto if your team’s path changes after the draw, or the other way around. For safe video verifications, use the AirHostSwap app, and keep a 50/50 split on the fees.

In my opinion, the premium FIFA packages are a waste. They feel too corporate, unlike the previous cups, where you could feel some soul. Do your own swaps and follow the crowd.
