Three countries hosting the World Cup! It sounds amazing, right? A huge party across North America!

For the local football fans in the host cities, this is going to be a blast. They get to see the World Cup right in their backyard. The BigSoccer forum guys are already talking about the USMNT schedule and what it all means. It's a huge deal for the host countries, and the atmosphere in those cities is going to be electric. Host cities ke football fans ka liye to mazy ha he hain! (The football fans in the host cities are definitely going to have fun!) But let's be real about the rest of us, especially the fans who want to follow their team from country to country.

This is a huge area. We're talking about massive travel distances. I saw on the Grand Old Team forum that one fan said he's "only interested in attending games in Canada and perhaps New York" because of the travel. And another fan talked about the ticket prices being too high.

Think about it: Your team plays in Vancouver, then in Miami, and then in Mexico City. That's a huge headache! It's expensive, it's a lot of flying, and it's a big time change. It's not like following your team around a small country in Europe.

I know the host countries are trying to make it easy, but this is a massive challenge. Will the fans from other countries even be able to afford to follow their teams? Or will the stadiums just be full of local fans?

I hope this World Cup is an amazing party, but I'm worried about the travel and the cost for the real, dedicated traveling fans.

Hey all,

I’ve been hanging around this forum for a while, soaking up all the hype for World Cup 2026. I’m hoping to catch a few games live, maybe even take a road trip from Philly to a couple of cities. But after seeing those ticket prices, man... I’m honestly frustrated.

That leaked price list going around?

Group stage tickets starting at $200+ for the cheapest seats

Semis and finals shooting up to $5,000–$10,000

That’s crazy. In Qatar 2022, you could grab a decent spot for under $100. Even USA 1994 felt more affordable for normal fans. Now it feels like the whole thing’s built for VIPs and corporate people, not the real football crowd who live for the chants and the chaos.

Sure, the lottery system sounds fair on paper sign up, pick your category, hope for luck. But that Insider Club thing? Paying extra just to get better odds? That’s just unfair. Feels like they’re trying to push out the average fan completely.

And don’t even get me started on resale. Total trap. With all these huge stadiums, you’d think tickets would be easier to find. But for big matches like USA vs. Mexico or Brazil vs. Argentina? Forget it unless you’re rich or insanely lucky.

It’s kinda sad, honestly. The real World Cup, those wild upsets and packed stands full of normal fans might disappear under all this money talk.

So, am I overreacting here, or are others feeling priced out too? What’s your plan?
