Hey all,
I’ve been hanging around this forum for a while, soaking up all the hype for World Cup 2026. I’m hoping to catch a few games live, maybe even take a road trip from Philly to a couple of cities. But after seeing those ticket prices, man… I’m honestly frustrated.
That leaked price list going around?
-
Group stage tickets starting at $200+ for the cheapest seats
-
Semis and finals shooting up to $5,000–$10,000
That’s crazy. In Qatar 2022, you could grab a decent spot for under $100. Even USA 1994 felt more affordable for normal fans. Now it feels like the whole thing’s built for VIPs and corporate people, not the real football crowd who live for the chants and the chaos.
Sure, the lottery system sounds fair on paper sign up, pick your category, hope for luck. But that Insider Club thing? Paying extra just to get better odds? That’s just unfair. Feels like they’re trying to push out the average fan completely.
And don’t even get me started on resale. Total trap. With all these huge stadiums, you’d think tickets would be easier to find. But for big matches like USA vs. Mexico or Brazil vs. Argentina? Forget it unless you’re rich or insanely lucky.
It’s kinda sad, honestly. The real World Cup, those wild upsets and packed stands full of normal fans might disappear under all this money talk.
So, am I overreacting here, or are others feeling priced out too? What’s your plan?
